How ICSA and C-WINS handle personal information collected through this website.
Effective date: 17 September 2026 · Applies to icsa.ngo
1. Who we are
This website (icsa.ngo) is operated for the Integrated Child Survival Advocacy at the Last Mile project (“ICSA”, “we”, “us”) by the Centre for Well-Being and Integrated Nutrition Solutions (C-WINS), together with NANA Girls & Women Empowerment Initiative and ACOMIN. The data controller for information collected through this website is C-WINS.
ICSA Secretariat, Heritage House, Wuse Zone 3, Abuja, Nigeria · info@c-wins.org
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It is written to meet the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where relevant, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation for visitors in those regions.
It does not cover programme data. ICSA’s monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) systems, community scorecards and health-facility records are governed by separate data-protection agreements with state governments and partners. No beneficiary records, patient information or other personal health data are collected through, stored on or published by this website.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and media enquiry forms — your name, organisation, email address, phone number (optional) and the content of your message.
- Email updates — your email address and your consent to receive the ICSA digest.
- Correspondence — anything you send us by email in response to information on this site.
Please do not include personal health information about yourself or anyone else in a website form. If you need to report a concern about a health facility or a commitment, use the contact form to ask for a secure channel.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs — our hosting provider records IP addresses, browser type, pages requested and timestamps for security and performance. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used to identify individual visitors.
- Analytics — we do not currently run visitor analytics. If we introduce it, it will run only after you accept analytics cookies in a consent banner, with IP addresses anonymised. See our Cookie Policy.
- Embedded content — the ICSA Dashboard embeds Microsoft Power BI reports. When you open a page with an embedded report, Microsoft may receive technical information (such as your IP address and browser) needed to display it. Only aggregated, non-identifiable programme indicators are published through the dashboard.
4. Why we use your information and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to enquiries and media requests | Legitimate interest in running the project and answering questions about it |
| Sending the ICSA email digest | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Keeping the website secure and available | Legitimate interest and legal obligation |
| Understanding how the site is used (analytics) | Your consent |
| Meeting legal, audit and donor reporting requirements | Legal obligation and legitimate interest |
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers. We share it only with:
- Consortium partners (NANA Girls & Women Empowerment Initiative and ACOMIN) and state teams, where your enquiry relates to their work;
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract: our web host (Hostinger), the email delivery service used to send form notifications and the digest, and, if enabled, our analytics provider;
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Some service providers store data outside Nigeria. Where that happens we rely on the provider’s contractual safeguards and, for transfers from the EU/UK, standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries: up to 24 months after the last exchange, unless a longer period is needed for audit.
- Email digest subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, after which your address is removed within 30 days.
- Server logs: typically 30–90 days.
- Analytics data (if enabled): aggregated after 14 months at most.
7. Your rights
Under the NDPA (and the GDPR where it applies) you can ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your information, or restrict how we use it;
- withdraw consent, including unsubscribing from the digest (every email includes an unsubscribe link);
- object to processing based on legitimate interest;
- receive information you gave us in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@c-wins.org with “Data request” in the subject line. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng) or, if you are in the EU or UK, your local supervisory authority.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, kept up to date, protected by access controls and monitored for unauthorised access. Form submissions are sent to the Secretariat by email and are not stored in the website database beyond what is needed to deliver them.
9. Children
This website is intended for adults working in or interested in child survival. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. Photographs of children on this site are used with the permission required by the photographer’s licence or the child’s guardian, and never identify a child as a beneficiary of a health service.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. Significant changes will be announced on the News page.
