Accountability in action

Promises made in public, tracked in public

Local Health Accountability and Advocacy Teams (LHAATs) collect evidence at facility level and take it to the people who can act. This page follows every commitment from the day it was made to the day it was kept.

How a commitment moves

From scorecard to a kept promise

1

Evidence gathered

A LHAAT scorecard flags a gap: for example, no Penta doses for six weeks at a primary health centre.

2

Commitment secured

At the monthly review, the responsible officer commits to act by a named date.

3

Published here

Commitment, owner and due date appear in the tracker within 48 hours.

4

Verified or escalated

The LHAAT verifies delivery, or the issue is escalated to the state with public notice.

Local Health Accountability and Advocacy Teams

Each LHAAT scores its facility monthly on vaccine availability, cold chain, staffing, malaria commodities and maternal services, and sits across the table from the LGA and state officials who can act. Teams are community members, ward development committee representatives and health workers, supported by the consortium.

Tone and verification

The tracker records what was promised and whether it was delivered, in plain language. Every entry names the office responsible, never an individual, and is verified by the LHAAT before it is marked fulfilled. Corrections can be requested through the contact page.

Facility readiness, as reported by the community

Facility readiness, commodity availability and client exit-interview results from 2,127 assessed facilities are published on the ICSA Project Dashboard and updated after each quarterly review. State-level scorecard summaries are added here as each state team approves them.
