Accessibility Statement
ICSA’s commitment to a website that everyone can use.
Last reviewed: 17 September 2026 · Applies to icsa.ngo
Our commitment
ICSA works so that every child in northern Nigeria can reach the services they need. We want the same for this website: everyone, including people who use assistive technology and people on slow connections or small phones, should be able to read our evidence and take part in our accountability work. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we have done
- Designed the site mobile-first, so it works on small screens and low-bandwidth connections.
- Used a clear heading structure, descriptive link text and page titles on every page.
- Chosen colours that meet contrast requirements for text and interface elements, and never relied on colour alone to convey status (commitment statuses also use words).
- Made every interactive element reachable and operable with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Provided text alternatives for images, and captions that describe photographs.
- Kept motion optional: the homepage slideshow pauses on hover or focus, and stops entirely for visitors who have asked their device to reduce motion.
- Included an accessibility button on every page that opens a toolbar to increase text size, change contrast, pause animations, highlight links and adjust spacing.
- Offered plain-language summaries alongside technical publications wherever we can.
Known limitations
We are working on these and will update this statement as they are fixed:
- ICSA Dashboard. The embedded Power BI reports are partly accessible with a screen reader and keyboard, but some charts cannot be read as text. The Results page and the underlying datasets in the Resources library provide the same figures in accessible tables.
- PDF publications. Older documents from partners may not be tagged for screen readers. Ask us for an accessible version.
- Films and audio. We add captions and transcripts as they are produced; some older recordings may not have them yet.
- Languages. The site is currently in English. Summaries in Hausa are planned for key publications.
Tell us about a problem
If you cannot access part of this site, or you need information in another format (large print, accessible PDF, audio, Hausa), email info@c-wins.org or use the Contact page. Tell us the page address and the problem you had. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to fix problems as quickly as we can.
How this statement was prepared
This statement is based on a self-assessment of the site’s templates against WCAG 2.2 AA, carried out when the site was built, and will be reviewed after each significant update and at least once a year.
