Rigasa campaign to close the gap between antenatal visits and facility births

PHC Rigasa reportedly sees more than 150 antenatal clients a month, but historically fewer than half gave birth at the facility. The LHAAT and community leaders are advocating for facility delivery.

The issue

High antenatal attendance but low facility delivery and a preference for home birth.

What the LHAAT did

The LHAAT and health workers ran sensitisation; the Mai Anguwa and Women Leader supported mobilisation; the team recommended engaging husbands and mothers-in-law.

How duty-bearers responded

More women were reported to be coming to the PHC to give birth, but updated delivery numbers were not provided.

Where it stands

The direction is positive, but the improvement in facility deliveries needs monthly verification.
